Mumbai: The 15-member India squad for next month`s ICC Champions Trophy has been picked after a meeting of the selection committee in Mumbai on Saturday.Shikhar Dhawan makes it to the team and is likely to be the first choice for the slot of the opener.
Gautam Gambhir ,Rahane and Yuvraj Singh have been dropped from the India one-day squad for the Champions Trophy which will be played in England.
Senior cricketers Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh, who weren’t included among the probables, have also been excluded from the final list as well. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma, and Murali Vijay have made a comeback.
Medium pacer Vinay Kumar and wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik have been rewarded for their good show in IPL 6 with a call-up to India’s ODI squad. Karthik will also double up as the back-up to skipper-wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni.
