IPL 6 match between Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) and Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens witnessed disgraceful incident when KKR captain Gautam Gambhir and his team-mate Manvinder Bisla clashed with Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid.
Ajinkya Rahane and umpire Kumar Dharmasena had to intervene to defuse the tension.
The incident occurred in the final ball of the fourth over from Shane Watson.Watson bowled a dot ball to Bisla and fielding the ball, the Australian showed his aggression and gave a stare to Bisla and engaged in a verbal vitriol with the batsman.
RR captain Rahul Dravid ask the batsman to cool down and there were words between him and Bisla where it looked like the keeper was asking him to tell Watson to cool it first. Instead of stopping Bisla KKR captain Gautam Gambhir came in too and had some words thrown some where.
Bisla even pointed his hand towards Dravid as the latter kept walking next to the pitch. Gambhir hurled abuse at Dravid even as he was moving away from the pair. Rahane came in and pulled Bisla back and umpire Kumar Dharmasena too joined. Bisla kept talking to Rahane and Dravid returned and got him away. As that was happening, Watson kept saying few words from his fielding position.
Why does Bisla and Gambhir have to target Dravid, the gentleman. ??
Rahul Dravid has carried himself with exceptional behaviour on the field during this illustrious international career. “The Wall” is a role model for every cricketer and it was not right on Bisla and Gambhir’s part to sledge the former Indian skipper.
